Plateau United today mark their return to the top flight with a hard-fought victory at home against their opponents who were also relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2011/12 season.
The match marked the beginning of the 2015/16 season. Nine of fixtures are scheduled for tomorrow, including those of two Lagos clubs – Ikorodu United and Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC.
Lagos clubs have not participated in the Nigerian Premier League for over a decade.
While Ikorodu United host Abia Warriors at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, MFM will be hosted by Nasarawa United.
Other matches tomorrow include that of the title holders Enyimba away to Rivers United (former Dolphins FC) in Port Harcourt and the top clash between Kano Pillars and Enugu Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
