Enyimba International Football Club of Aba are set to start their 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaign today, Sunday, November 10, 2019, with an away fixture at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium against Kastina United.
The NPFL defending champions won four and lost one to be crowned league winners in Lagos after they finished third in an abridged league format and will be hoping to continue with their fine domestic form.
Daily Sports reports that less than a week ago the People’s Elephant progressed to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup after ousting TS Galaxy of South 4-1 on aggregate.
The game against the Chanji Boys will afford Coach Usman Abd’Allah to test some of the legs he recruited in the off season.
One of the new recruits of the Elephants, Abiodun Adebayo, feels that coming to Enyimba from Abia Warriors is basically to face a new challenge.
Reacting to wearing the white and blue of Enyimba to compete for honours, the towering defender said he believes strongly in the team because of the array of talented players and coaches, even as he thinks the team can do a back-to-back in the league and compete very well in the continent.
Enyimba will return to play Nassarawa United on Thursday, November 14, in Aba, in a rescheduled match day one fixture.
