Warri Wolves GM Edema Fuludu disappointed following loss to Bendel Insurance

By Daily Sports on February 2, 2016

Warri Wolves General Manager Edema Fuludu is not happy with the result and performance of his team in Friday’s 1-2 loss to National Division 1 side and hosts Bendel Insurance in a pre-season friendly fixture at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Speaking with Daily Sports, Fuludu warned the players to sit up as the Nigeria Premier League season draws closer.

“Even though it’s a friendly, I would expect a premier league side to put on a show that would confirm their status as one against a side that is a level below. But that’s not we have seen today from my team and I’m honestly not happy with our play today,” Fuludu said.

The former BCC Lions of Gboko star hinted that the players’ performance may have been affected by some unresolved matters involving their pay.

“I suspect that our not too good play today had to do with some internal issues. These issues we face are the same being experienced by most other clubs in the league. Despite this, the players have to get their acts together and play better,” he said.

Fuludu however stated that defeat to Insurance will not make the coaches panic and make wholesale changes as regards signing of players, but that they would rather fine tune the team better by working on the lapses of the available players in the training ground.

Insurance led 2-0 with a goal in each half before Warri Wolves reduced the tally with a penalty.
