Owerri, the Imo State capital, is expected to stand still today, Saturday, October 26, 2019 as Heartland Supporters tackle the Columbians in a novelty game which will serve as a dress rehearsal for Heartland’s first game of the season against MFM FC of Lagos.
The much-talked-about friendly between the Heartland Supporters Club and the Heartland Ultras, popularly known as Ndi Columbia holds at the City Primary School Owerri.
The match is the brainchild of Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, Technical Adviser of Heartland FC Owerri and immediate past gaffer of MFM FC of Lagos.
The Nnewi-born soccer tactician variously called The Working One and Kamara by fans, put his money where his mouth is with the donation of a N100,000.
The supporters derby is planned to be a traditional curtain raiser to Heartland’s league campaign, moving forward.
