African football legend and former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba has voiced his support for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
France Football this week revealed the 30 nominees for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, with five players from the African continent making the cut.
Liverpool duo Salah and Mane, who spearheaded the Reds to Uefa Champions League glory last season, are joined by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly and Riyad Mahrez.
Speaking on the set of L’Equipe during the reveal of the shortlist, Drogba said that Mane and Salah are his two favourites for the award.
The Liverpool duo combined for a total of 53 goals last season as the Merseyside club claimed a sixth European crown.
George Weah is still the only African to win the award, having done so in 1995. (African Football)
