The headquarters of Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations (FCAAN) in the United States of America says the Edo State Government has concluded plans to partner the association to develop the game of football in the state through coaching education.
FCAAN Director of Coaching Education, Coach Henry Abiodun, revealed this while addressing newsmen recently in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
He said that the partnership would include a one week FCAAN D Diploma Course for Edo State football coaches from November 18 to 21, 2019 in Benin City.
The former handler of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure noted that the training would afford football coaches from all local councils in Edo state to undergo modern day techniques of coaching.
He commended Edo State Government for the plans to bring new methods of coaching to the doorsteps of its coaches, which he said is of crucial importance in football development.
FCAAN D Diploma Course for Edo State Football Coaches would be coming up three days after the edition slated for Ondo State, the registration of which is ongoing and will close on October 31.
Abiodun said the course has the full backing of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA).
He enjoined coaches who might have interest in the programme to register before the October 31 deadline, as this would enable FCAAN to prepare adequately for the one week training.
“Participants at the Course Programme would be issued Certificates of FCAAN D Diploma Course,” Abiodun told newsmen.
The registration form goes for N5,000 while the course fee is N50,000.
Abiodun said that the Certificates of D Diploma Course would arrive Nigeria alongside the President of FCAAN, Dr. Terry Eguoaje, a week before the commencement of the training.
Coach Abiodun added that the forthcoming FCAAN D Diploma Course was necessitated by calls from Nigerian coaches who missed out from the June Edition of FCAAN E and D Diploma Courses held in Ibadan, Oyo State, which had in attendance over a hundred football coaches from Nigeria and South Africa.
