Lille Admit Osimhen Worry

By Daily Sports on October 21, 2019

Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos says the club may struggle to keep hold of Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the season after his incredible goalscoring start to the campaign.

Osimhen has scored nine goals in 13 appearances since arriving from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi at the start of the campaign, though he did not manage to find the back of the net in Saturday’s 1-0 away loss to Toulouse.

It has still been an eye-catching start to the season and Campos believes Lille fans should enjoy him while they can.

“When you are a club like Lille, it is difficult to keep hold of a striker who scores goals. We’ll be under assault if he continues like this,” Campos told RMC Sport.

“It is normal, in the way football currently is. Like all the players who have arrived at Lille in this project, the idea is to continue to help them to improve, for them to help the club and the team to improve in turn.”
