Special Eagles broke a 13 years jinx to progress to the final of the 2019 Amputee Cup of Nations in Angola following a difficult 3-2 victory over Tanzania on Thursday.

Kelvin Kingsley scored his fourth goal of the competition to put Nigeria ahead before the Tanzanians equalised, while an own goal from Austin Ugu from a freekick made it 2-1 for Tanzania.

Tanzania were minutes away from securing a place in the final of the tournament before captain Sarafadeen Olalekan revived the hope of the Eagles by reacting to a spot-kick missed by Ezeji Kennedy.

Nigeria went ahead in the opening half of extra time through Grema Mohammed’s strike which the team maintained to claim the victory and progress to the final of the competition – for the first time in 13 years after three attempts in the semifinals.
