Bayern Munich Suffer Shock Loss Against Hoffenheim

 Bayern Munich suffered their first Bundesliga defeat of the season against Hoffenheim just four days after their 7-2 Champions League win at Tottenham.

Sargis Adamyan scored twice for Hoffenheim to secure their first league win and first ever at Allianz Arena.

Robert Lewandowski had briefly levelled for champions Bayern with his 15th goal of the season after seven games.

Niko Kovac’s side stay top but now only on goal difference from Frieburg, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen.

Second-placed Freiburg drew 2-2 at home to Borussia Dortmund, while Leipzig and Leverkusen played out a 1-1 draw. 

Having hit Tottenham for seven in London on Tuesday night, Bayern were caught out by a Hoffenheim side that had taken five points from their opening six games,

There were warning signs at the other end for the champions – whose only change from midweek was introducing Thiago Alcantara into midfield – as Adamyan failed to capitalise when through on goal in the opening minutes.

Serge Gnabry, who scored four goals for Bayern at Spurs, had the ball in the net again but it was ruled out for offside. (Reuters)
