From Adversity To Progress: Young Nigerian Striker Enete Looks To Make Use Of His Promotion In Ukrainian Top Flight

By Daily Sports on October 1, 2019

These days it’s pleasing to see bright and young Nigerian striking talents that have been on the youth ranks of top clubs making the progression to the main teams. Bukola Saka at Arsenal and Tammy Abraham at Chelsea are two forward players who have paid their dues in the youth teams of their clubs and are today enjoying rave reviews as their attacking gusto and beautiful finishes prove the more finished articles they have become.

While the likes of Abraham and Saka are strutting their stuff in England, west of Europe, another Nigerian attacker has just emerged from the feeder team of a top club in the very competitive Ukrainian top flight league in Eastern Europe and is set to announce himself more to the world stage with confident force.

19-year-old Joseph Kosisochukwu Enete is currently enjoying high ratings in Ukraine and his goalscoring performances in the youth team of Karpaty FC of that country’s top division has earned him a call up to the senior side of the club where so much is expected of him when he makes his full debut soon for the club coached by the highly respected former Ukrainian international Roman Sanzhar.

Enete possesses a fox-in-box presence up front with a clinical ability to arrive at the six-yard box to finish chances with ruthless aplomb.

Amongst his other characteristics that have caught the eye in Ukraine are his exceptional hold up play with his back to goal, pace and long range shooting ability.

But it has not always been smooth sailing for the lad who had to contend with a long layoff caused by an unfortunate ankle injury that kept out for much of the 2018-19 season.

“He was practically out throughout last season. It was a difficult period for him but he’s got a strong heart and waded the tough period through patience and prayer,” says the player’s agent Dr Leonard Maduabum.

Before the injury sidelined him, Enete had managed to find the net twice for Karpaty’s youth team in prestigious matches last season while also contributing an assist.

It is remarkable that the player has wasted no time since he recovered from the injury to put in good work in the training ground that have earned the trust of the Karpaty coaching staff who have duly rewarded his excellent work ethic with an invitation to train with the main team of the club .

Maduabum says the player can do well in the Ukrainian premier league as well as in any other top leagues in the world.

“He is a bright talent and there is still many more to come from him,” Maduabum said.

Easygoing Dr Maduabum is an astute manager of fine talents who has the pride of having top class prospects he works with. Among them are the imposing Club Brugge of Belgium striker and recent Super Eagles of Nigeria invitee Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis as well as Adele Babatunde Aliu of Ukrainian premier league outfit FC Lviv.

Enete was a former Golden Eaglets invitee who impressed greatly with his scoring prowess while in the Under 17. Not a few are backing him to once more be a feature in the national team set up, this time with the Olympics-bound Dream Team and the Super Eagles.

One fan of the lad opines: “Enete has got everything to be a big world star; discipline, talent and hard work. He’s a modern striker. The world will know him better, all things being equal.”

For now though, eyes will be on him to see how he handles the challenge of joining Karpaty’s first team squad but the best bet is that the electrifying Enete will come good and become a bigger and better star.
