SWAN Is One United Family — NEC Member Alloy Chukwuemeka

By Obaseki Anthony on September 24, 2019

A member of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria National Executive Committee (SWANECO), Mr. Alloy Chukwuemeka, has debunked rumours of infighting over the guidelines recently released by SWANECO ahead of the forthcoming national SWAN election.

Chukwuemeka, who spoke with newsmen in Asaba, Delta State, said: “SWAN is one united family and we are all on the same page at the NEC, state councils and even with our parent body NUJ.”

The SWAN Ex-Officio member added that though there were certain observations raised by some concerned members over issues of disenfranchisement, that section of the guidelines has been expunged and the right to contest extended to all qualified members interested in doing so.

He added that SWAN will continue to operate as one united family and as a strong professional association.

Chukwuemeka urged SWAN members to disregard rumours of parallel meetings and unfounded committees “being spread by some disgruntled individuals who do not mean well for the association.”

The Club Owners scribe also said that his position as the DG of the Campaign Committee of the incumbent President, Mr. Honour Sirawoo, is still subsisting, stressing that he has mobilised both human and financial resources to ensure Sirawoo’s re-election.
