Gateway, MFM, 3SC, Rivers United, Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves, Heartland, Others Storm Ijebu Ode For Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season Tournament

South-West Nigeria will witness the best of football as the city of Ijebu-Ode play host to the maiden Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season Tournament from September 24 to 31, 2019.

Top clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Nigerian National League (NNL) totaling 16 will converge in the ancient town with a new vibe as they go on to participate in the competition meant to prepare teams for the upcoming domestic football season.

Some of the participating teams include Gateway, MFM, 3SC, Rivers United, Sunshine Stars, Kano Pillars, Katsina United, Warri Wolves, Delta Force, Heartland and Kwara United.

Tournament director, Mr. Oye Bawala, disclosed in a chat with the media that the competition will make for an exciting spectacle for the fans and will add a great layer of intrigue to what is expected to be a fascinating footballing season for the participating teams.

Arrival date for the teams is slated for September 24 while action will commence the next day with games holding across different centres daily. The grand finale is billed for the Gateway Stadium, Ijebu Ode, on September 31.
