Abia Warriors must win NPFL title - Boboye

By Daily Sports on May 10, 2016

Kennedy Boboye has insisted that he will be disappointed if Abia Warriors do not win the Nigeria Professional Football League title having missed out of the Federation Cup.

With a game at hand, the Umuahia based outfit are a point behind leaders Enugu Rangers after defeating Giwa FC 1-0 and have lost just once in 14 outings.

And the Super Eagles’ interim assistant coach insists he will regret if they fail to keep up their recent form.

“We give thanks to God for the victory [against Giwa] and our focus is how to get a result against Makurdi against Nasarawa United,” Boboye told Goal.

“I think the presence of experienced players like John Ghaddi, Valentine Nwabil and Stanley Okoro is one, but must importantly we are a team that work so hard and that is why we keep getting good results.

Apart from this, we all nurse the same ambition of winning the NPFL title and also playing in the CAF Champions League.

And in achieving this, that means we have to be very solid in defence and brilliant in the attack not forgetting other departments of the game, but most importantly we must be able to convert our chances and avoid being complacent.

It will be a massive disappointed if we do not win the league because that is our target this season. Besides, we are not in the Federation Cup.

No one gave Leicester City a chance but today, everyone is celebrating them. It is all about determination, hard work and focus. (Goal.com)
