The Nigeria National League (NNL) has charged Jigawa Golden Stars for the misconduct of their Technical Adviser, Rabiu Tata, and for non-appearance at a post-match conference after their game with Adamawa United, which they lost 7-8 on penalties after 1-1 during regulation time on day one of the Super Four play-offs at the Cathedral – Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The NNL Compliance Unit rose from its meeting while assessing performance and organisation of match day one declaring that, as stipulated in the rule book, Jigawa Golden Stars are to cough out the sum of N2 million on or before their classification match against Warri Wolves today, Sunday, September 15, 2019.
NNL Chief Operating Officer, Lawrence Katken, who vehemently frowned at the development, said that the conduct of Coach Tata and his decision not to appear for a mandatory post-match conference is unethical and unacceptable.
“We condemn this in its entirety and warn other coaches or clubs to desist from such behaviour,”
Katken said.
Adamawa United and Akwa Starlets will battle for the top prize in the final games scheduled for today.
