The General Manager of Heartland FC, Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi, on behalf of the Heartland family, has congratulated the team’s Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu on his significant contributions towards the victory of the Olympic Eagles over their Sudanese counterparts.
The Olympic Eagles had spelt S-u-d-a-n with goals in an enthralling encounter at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium Asaba, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. This victory ensured Nigeria’s participation in the CAF U-23 – the last hurdle for qualification to Tokyo 2020.
The Heartland General Manager said: “We are proud of Ilechukwu and the entire technical team of the Olympic Eagles. His presence, style and technical dexterity only goes to show that the reward for hard work is more work.
“We are proud to have him in our dugout which bodes well and speaks volumes about Heartland’s drive and objectives going into the new season and beyond. I believe that with the symbiotic relationship between Ilechukwu, Imama and Boboye, the team is destined for the Tokyo Olympics.”
The AFCON Under-23 tournament begins in Egypt in November 2019 with the battle to represent the African continent in the football event of the quadriennal fiesta in the summer of 2020 in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
