Nigeria U23 male volleyball team on Friday beat Burkina Faso (senior team) 3-2 (25-15, 24-26, 25-14, 20-25, 15-10) at the ongoing Zone 3 CAVB Nations Cup in Ghana.
The head coach of Nigeria U23 team, Augustine Odumo, expressed delight with the win over the senior team of Burkina Faso.
Odumo said the win is a morale booster, adding that the players will put more efforts in their next game.
He said technical issues observed will be corrected.
The former national team handler said: “I am happy with the win over Burkina Faso. Before the start of the game, we were rated underdogs but I am excited the boys did well.
“This win is a morale booster for us and by the time we meet our next opponent, all technical issues noticed must have been corrected.”
Nigeria will face Benin Republic today, Sunday, August 4, at the ongoing Zone 3 CAVB Nations Cup in Ghana.
