The Executive Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Lagos state chapter, Olatutu Oladunni, has joyfully congratulated the Governor-elect of Lagos State,His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu alongside his deputy, Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat on their re-election to office for 2nd term.
Following the just concluded governorship election held on March 18th 2023 nationwide, Governor Sanwo-Olu has proven again that a good term of governance deserves another as he won the election with a wide margin to defeat the opposition parties.
Olatutu Oladunni who is also the first female chairman of Lagos SWAN since 1964 said, said that win in the guber poll is indeed a well deserved victory for Lagos State Government, citizens of Lagos and entire sporting family.
The SWAN Chairman said that it is no doubt that a lot of impressive transformation has taken place in the sports sector in Lagos and as Mr Governor has retained his seat, it will be a continuation of works in progress as Lagosians look forward to seeing more of the brilliant works in sports.
Olatutu Oladunni said,
The integrating bond between Lagos SWAN and Lagos State Government has continued to grow stronger and hereby remains unbreakable, as His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's sporting spirit begins to open larger opportunities for sports sector in Lagos State.
Having done two series of sporting Advocacy Tour for His Excellency Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu during the campaign for the guber poll,. the Lagos State chapter is using this opportunity to felicitate with the Governor-elect alongside his deputy Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat as lagosians celebrate them specially for the victory.
Oladunni said the new mandate given by the Lagosians to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is simply a proof to positive calls and also the achievements recorded in Lagos across boards.
She said that as the entire members of Lagos SWAN celebrates Sanwo-Olu His Excellency, "we urge Mr Governor to continue to remain focused more than ever as this we believe will take sports sector to another rising level of greater excellence," Oladunni emphasised.
