Kano Pillars coach Ibrahim Musah insists his side’s aim is to win the 2019/20 CAF Champions League.
Pillars, who finished runners-up behind Enyimba in the Nigeria PFL, will take on Ghana’s Asante Kotoko over two legs in the preliminary round next month. The first game in Nigeria will be on the weekend of 9-11 August, with the return in Ghana two weeks later.
According to Musah, Pillars are focused on winning every game they play in the competition in order to reach their target.
“We want to win all the maximum points so we qualify for the next stage because our target is to win the Champions League this season,” he told Oyerepa FM, presumably forgetting that there are no points on offer in the qualifying rounds.
He also indicated they are not scared of the Ghanaian champions even though he doesn’t have much information about them.
“I have heard about the team but don’t know much about Kotoko. We are not scared about Kotoko, what you bring presently is more important than success achieved years ago,” he explained.
“We just concluded our league in Nigeria, we are preparing very well because we are going to meet a great team in Ghana.” (African Football)
