Nigeria Customs Service men’s volleyball team and Nigeria Security Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) women’s volleyball team finished first at the just concluded first phase of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Asaba.
Nigeria Customs Service beat NSCDC 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-20) to top the men’s group while NSCDC overpowered Nigeria Customs Service 3-2 (25-17, 19-25, 19, 25, 27-25, 18-16) to top the women’s group on Day 6 of the league concluded on Saturday, July 20.
Nigeria Customs is first with 19 points; NSCDC is second with 18 points while Nigeria Police Force is third with 14 points in the men’s table.
Other are; Nigeria Immigration Service placed fourth with 13 points, Kano Pillars sits on fifth position with 11 points, Plateau Rocks picked 3 points to stay on six position, Famous Spikers of Bayelsa is in seventh position with 2 points while UCEM of Enugu is eighth with one points in the men’s standing.
The table standing of the women’s category; NSCDC led the group with 17 points, Nigeria Customs is second with 16 points, COAS Spikers of the Nigeria Army is third with 11 points while Nigeria Immigration Service is fourth with 7 points.
In fifth position is Kada Emeralds of Kaduna with 6 points, six position is Delta Force with 3 points while Benue Queens are seventh with zero points.
The second phase of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League will take place in Abuja with a date not decided by the League Management Committee.
