Atalanta qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history on Sunday, coming from behind to guarantee their place with a 3-1 win over Sassuolo in a match marred by a brawl.
Domenico Berardi gave Sassuolo a shock lead in the 19th minute but Duvan Zapata scrambled the ball home to equalise for Atalanta in the 35th minute. Berardi was then sent off following the brawl at the end of the first half.
Atalanta captain Alejandro Gomez put his side ahead eight minutes after the restart and Mario Pasalic headed in from a Gomez cross in the 65th minute.
Atalanta finished third in Serie A with 69 points, ahead of Inter Milan on their head-to-head record, and one point in front of AC Milan, who missed out.
Sassuolo ended the game with nine men when Francesco Magnanelli was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 83rd minute. (Goal)
