Fan of Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa’s club burns down bar . . . after landlord refuses to screen his team’s match

A livid fan of CSKA Moscow has set fire to a pub after the landlord refused to put the punter’s favourite team on the TV. CSKA Moscow is the club where Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa plies his trade in Russia.

A report in the UK paper, The Sun, said the CSKA Moscow supporter rowed with the owner at the bar before storming off – only to return armed with petrol and a box of matches.

The owner had refused to switch the TV to a channel showing the live football match, because regulars at the drinking hole were engrossed in a soap opera they gather to watch every week.

The report said the unnamed Russian man screamed at the pub in Kaliningrad: “I need to see this game. This is a big game.”

The owner reportedly hit back: “I am not changing channels for you. You will be gone tomorrow but I have to look after my regulars who come here all the time.”

The report said that soon after the heated argument, the man came back and torched the pub – setting fire to curtains.

“Flames spread up the walls, causing £30,000 of damage and leaving the pub caked in ash. Fortunately, everyone inside the building made it out uninjured. The arsonist was arrested ordered not to leave Kaliningrad before his trial,” the report said.

It concluded that te apparently told police he started the blaze to avenge his “humiliation”.
