By Daily Sports on May 17, 2019

The maiden edition of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) Awards Nite will hold on May 24, 2019, at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja. A release signed by the National President of the club, Vincent Okumagba, said the award ceremony is an avenue to recognise and appreciate those who have over the years contributed to the successes of the nation’s senior team, the Super Eagles as well as their Supporters Club.

“People only see the Super Eagles’ play without knowing the many efforts involved in getting them succeed. It’s not an easy task getting a team like the Super Eagles perform so we need to appreciate those who make things work,” the release added. Okumagba also highlighted the efforts and sacrifices of the members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club who spend their time, finances and energy to follow and support the Eagles. “As we prepare to follow the team to Egypt for the African Nations Cup in June, we want to give ourselves and others who support us a pat on the back for the efforts and sacrifices”, the released added.

Other activities lined up as part of the Award Nite is the official presentation of the Supporters’ Club new magazine The Super Supporters Magazine. “We also want to raise funds for our many activities; the immediate being the forthcoming AFCON in Egypt in June. Others include the inauguration of the Club’s Board of Patrons and Board of Trustees which has Otunba Oladejo of Liberty Lottos as Chairman.

Among the awardees are Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi and Kensington Adebutu. Others are the Sports Minister, Barr. Solomon Dalong and Nigeria Football Federation President and CAF Vice President, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick. Both will also serve as the Distinguished Guest of Honour and Special Guest of Honour respectively. The Aiteo will be honoured as the ‘Foremost Sponsor of Football In Nigeria’.

The Super Eagles Supporters Club is the premier support and motivational group of Nigerians from all walks of life with great passion in the affairs and success of Nigerian’s senior men’s football team, the Super Eagles. The SESC will be in Egypt with a 200 man strong support team to cheer the Super Eagles to victory.
