Nigerian Army Basketball Team emerges runners-up in National Division 2 League

The Nigerian Army Basketball Team (NIGARM Rockets) has emerged runners up in the 2015 National Basketball League Division 2. “The final match saw the All Stars Basketball Team emerging champions after an entertaining and keenly contested match with NIGARM Rockets at the NBBF Indoor Sports Hall, Package ‘B’ National Stadium, Abuja.” Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said.

The championship, which commenced on November 15, featured 12 teams.

As runners-up, NIGARM Rockets have earned promotion to National Division One League, where they will compete for honours in 2016.

Col. Usman said in a statement in Abuja: “It will be recalled that Nigerian Army sportsmen and women have been excelling in various sporting events and competitions; winning laurels locally and internationally especially in Wrestling, Taekwondo, Boxing, Judo, Athletics and Basketball, among others.”
