Super Eagles will not have problem with motivation when they face South Africa at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg after the governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, promised to give the team 25,000 US Dollars for each goal they scored in the fixture.
Gernot Rohr’s men go into Saturday game with a relaxed mind knowing that a draw will be enough to guarantee them a place in the Africa soccer fiesta fixed in Cameroon and they have resumed preparations for the fixture with 22 players already in Asaba sweating it out ahead of the Thursday trip.
The governor of Delta State who addressed the Eagles during their training session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, on Tuesday evening charged them to be good ambassadors and to make their qualification for the Afcon easier by getting the needed result.
“I am pleased to have the Super Eagles here in Asaba. We hope you make Asaba your home, and as a people, we will begin to follow your progress even more closely,” Okowa said.
“We appreciate the giant strides Nigerian football is making and commend the leadership of the NFF for making Delta State part of its success story. For every goal scored by the Super Eagles in Johannesburg on Saturday, we pledge a reward of 25,000 dollars. Please don’t put a limit to the number of goals you score on Saturday; try and score as many as possible.” (Goal)
