NFF Congratulates Green on Knighthood

By Daily Sports on October 5, 2016

The Nigeria Football Federation has congratulated its Technical and Development Committee Chairman, Barrister Chris Green on the latter’s investiture as a Knight of St. Christopher on Sunday.

Green, who is a ranking Member of the NFF Executive Committee and CAF Match Commissioner, was decorated as a Knight of St. Christopher on Sunday by His Lordship, the Bishop of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Isiala Ngwa, Abia State.

In its goodwill message for the occasion, signed by the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the Federation eulogized Green, saying he is “deserving and apt for this honour. As the son of a former FIFA referee and administrator of note, Chris Green rose from a football home, and has in the past three decades, toiled quietly at both State and National levels to bring honour to Nigeria through the game.

“A fearless and tireless administrator, Chris Green has demonstrated unqualified loyalty and passion for football, as well as for all those he worked (and still working) with. His energy, discipline, commitment and single –minded pursuit of clearly –stated goals is unmatched in the Nigerian football firmament at the moment.”

On Monday, NFF President Amaju Pinnick hailed Green as a true Knight of Nigerian football. “He is very much deserving of the honour, and we felicitate with him on this occasion.” (thenff.com)
