Aubameyang wins Arsenal Player of the month prize

By Daily Sports on November 7, 2018

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been announced as Arsenal’s October Player of the Month.

The 29-year-old was in a brilliant form last month, scoring five goals and contributed an assist to help Unai Emery’s men with five wins, one draw in the six games played.

Against Fulham and Leicester City, he scored a brace in each of the games and was on target in their stalemate with Crystal Palace to jointly lead the Premier League goalscoring chart with seven goals. The former Borussia Dortmund star got 55 percent of the votes cast to scoop the award ahead of Mesut Ozil and Alex Lacazette. The forward has continued to impress since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium in January and has racked up nine goals in 13 appearances this season across all competitions.

The attacker will be hoping to increase the tally when Arsenal take on Sporting Lisbon in Thursday’s Uefa Europa League game. (Goal)

The Nigeria striker made this assertion while reflecting on his protracted summer transfer saga that saw Napoli desperately sell him off to Al-Ahli and Chelsea in the embers of the window, with the latter his long-term choice destination offering peanuts for his signature. The 25-year-old said that he was prepared to remain at Napoli for another three or four months and secure a move to one of his suitors in January, reiterating the relief ushered by the Galatasaray offer. “I had plans to stay there and wait for three or four months and leave in January, but I think for me it was fair also to stay there because I wouldn’t let anyone decide for me,” Osimhen told Turkish media, including TRT Spor, from the Galatasaray training centre.
