Twenty players have repoted to Super Eagles camp preparing for the must win 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Seychelles on Saturday.
By Tuesday morning, there were 12 players in all: Henry Onyekuru, Kenneth Omeruo, Francis Uzoho, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Kalu, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidozie Awaziem, Kelechi Nwakali, Bryan Idowu, Simeon Nwankwo and Joel Obi.
In the afternoon, Saudi Arabia-based, Ahmed Musa, alongside Turkey-based, Ogenyi Onazi, China-based, Odion Ighalo, Germany-based, Jamilu Collins and the England-based duo of Oghenekaro Etebo and Leon Balogun joined their colleagues for lunch.
Later in the day, goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa (from Nigeria) and Daniel Akpeyi (from South Africa) increased the number of players in camp to 20.
The technical crew will commence training, without any worries over the withdrawals of Alex Iwobi, Olaoluwa Aina and William Ekong, due to injury.
The Super Eagles must win the match to restore their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track following their 2-0 loss to South Africa in Uyo on Matchday 1 in June 2017.
Nigeria, Libya, Seychelles and South Africa are all vying for the two slots from Group E to qualify for the Nations Cup billed for Cameroon next year.
Libya currently tops the group with three points after their 5-1 win over Seychelles, while South Africa, who defeated Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo in the day one of the qualifiers, are second, while Nigeria and Seychelles come third and fourth respectively.
Preparation started on Tuesday with players involved in foot volleyball at a beach.
The match comes up at 1:30 pm Nigeria time (4:30 pm Seychelles time) on Saturday. (Independent)
