Golden Eaglets lose 2-3 to Burkina Faso in Under 17 AFCON Qualifiers

Golden Eaglets got their CAF U17 AFCON Qualifiers (WAFU B) campaign on a low as they lost 3-2 to Burkina Faso on Monday.

The Baby Etalon raced to an early lead in the fourth minute thanks to Albert Outtara.

Two minutes later, Issa Ouedrago made it two goals to nil after he caught the Eaglets' defence napping.

Samson Tijani reduced the deficit for the five-time World champions as the game produced three goals in the opening 13 minutes.

On the half hour, Tijani almost leveled matters with a solo effort which was kept out by the keeper.

At the first minute of additional time in the first half Nigeria got rewarded for their determination as Olakunle Olusegun Junior applied the finishing touch.

Nigeria showed positive intention in the second half but they missed gilt edge chances.

With 11 minutes left on the clock, Burkina Faso had the final say as they grabbed the match winner.
