It was a festival of smiles, laughter and happiness when Smile Africa, an initiative of Art of Living, recently took the stage at the main bowl of the National Stadium Surulere Lagos. It was a well attended programme that saw the organisers demonstrating the art of living in practical terms to the capacity crowd which was held spellbound throughout the lively event.
The programme that aimed at introducing the masses to a way of healthy living through sports in the modern day lifestyle lived up to its billing as participates confessed to having thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Daily Sports gathered that the programme gained tremendous popularity in the East African countries of Kenya and Uganda where it was earlier introduced and that the organisers are aiming to achieve the same effect in Nigeria.
The sports event held from 7am to 10am was organised in partnership with Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and exclusively sponsored by MyMy toothpaste, one of the popular brands in Nigeria from Daraju Industries.
The Smile Africa workshop featured exercises, warm ups, stretching, Zumba, Sports Yoga and Super Brain Yoga. Others were fun-filled team building games with practical learning and wisdom; easy-to-do instant energising breathing techniques; mind-relaxing techniques; upbeat fusion live music by Mr Nitin Dawar with Indo-African band of Nigeria. There were also plenty of dances.
The event anchor, Mr Nitin Dawar, is an internationally acclaimed trainer of health, wellness, life skills and corporate excellence. He is a guitarist, singer, composer & a famous live performer from India. Art of Living has been working across 155+ countries to spread peace and harmony and bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
