“If only the Judiciary will leave up to their oath of professional allegiance and integrity as the citizenry… INEC chairman and his ICT accomplices should be charged and prosecuted for criminal breach of trust “
These were the emotional words of one of the prominent and foremost politicians from the North West geo-political zone of the country and also a frontline member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who craved his name should be off print.
According to him, being one of the pioneers or foundation members of APC should not be mistaken to mean that if one sees these ongoing anti-democratic reactionaries in the country people like him will not actually say it boldly. One is a Nigerian and as such won’t close his eyes on them.
He added that the kind of injustices currently going on in the country since 2015 can only be imagined than described. APC government turned everything upside in the country in all sectors. It started with the judiciary, when the former Chief of Nigeria, Water Onagan was removed with unfounded allegations. APC also harassed, threatened and arrested unabated Judges all over the country. These Judges were intimidated with the assistance of the supposedly law enforcement agents especially the Nigeria Police and the DSS.
“The Buhari APC led government boxed the Judges into a corner driving terrible fears into them and such tendency is still the lot of our amiable Judges till this moment. During that period only very few judges were bold and acted strictly and carried out their impartial Judiciary roles. The hang-over still lingers,” he critically observed.
He restated that if only the Judiciary will up held their oath of professional allegiance and integrity to the citizenry. Only that bold and fearless landmark judgment will rescue democracy in the country. For INEC chairman, Yakubu and his ICT accomplices must be charged and prosecuted for Criminal Breach of Trust by Nigerians.
“It is not hidden fact that INEC’s Mahmoud Yakubu collaborated with the ruling APC to deny Nigerians their mandate. Their chose choices at all levels during the 2023 general elections were never declared winners. Tell me what would have prompted my party, APC to win any election in the country with the kind of huge deceit it plugged Nigeria into presently if not through manipulation of the electrol umpire, INEC,” he queried.
