UNAI EMERY is set to keep faith with Arsenal keeper Petr Cech for Saturday’s clash at Chelsea.
Cech struggled to adapt to Arsenal’s new style and almost scored a comical own goal in the 2-0 opening game defeat to Manchester City
The veteran looked all at see and did not look a natural as the Gunners adopted the tactic of keeping possession close to their goal.
But Starsport understands Bernd Leno - signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £22.5m in the summer - has failed to convince Emery and his coaching staff that he’s ready to step in for such a key game.
Cech, 36, was made skipper by Emery for the City game and is poised to keep the armband on his return to Stamford Bridge.
Back-up keeper David Ospina looks to have played his last game for Arsenal after joining Italian side Napoli on loan yesterday.
The Colombian asked to leave following the arrival of Leno, which shunted him further down the pecking order.
Napoli - who have an option to buy Ospina on a permanent basis - were linked with a move for out-of-favour Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet.
Instead they turned to Ospina, who started in all four of Colombia’s games at the World Cup.
Joel Campbell is another Gunners player heading for the exit door.
