Future Eagles Ride High With Devine Nwachukwu

By Daily Sports on July 21, 2018

Nigeria’s under-15 national team, Future Eagles will once again bank on the skills, vision, power and goals of their latest revelation, Devine Nwachukwu in their next match at the 2018 African Youth Games in Algiers, Algeria.

Following their opening come-from-behind 3-2 win against Morocco on Thursday, the Eagles will now seek maximum points versus Djibouti on Saturday, before wrapping up group action versus Libya on Monday, and all eyes will again be on Nwachukwu.

This comes after he stole the show on Thursday, netting a brace of goals to help Coach Danladi Nasidi’s side romp back from the verge of defeat.

Morocco took an early 2-0 lead but the Eagles recovered with a second half surge boosted by Nwachukwu, who hit a brace, and Chidera Ejiofor got the other goal for the Nigerians.

Nwachukwu was particularly unstoppable, as he troubled the back line of the Moroccans with smart runs behind their defence and also deft skills whenever he is on the ball.

Ejiofor was also very lively for the Nigerian, but heavily hyped Lateef Omidiji Junior failed to be among the goals.

Nigeria are the defending champions and hope to defend their title with this squad largely selected from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) U15 Championship earlier this year.

Nigeria did not participate in the football event of the first African Youth Games in Rabat but, in Gaborone, Botswana four years ago, they won four out of five matches and drew the other to emerge winners at the second edition. (Footballlive.ng)
