Arrows assess Nigerian star Omeke

By Daily Sports on July 14, 2018

Golden Arrows are believed to be assessing Nigerian forward Chijioke Omeke.

Omeke was recently playing his football in Mozambique for ENH de Vilankulo.

In 2016 Omeke together with his countryman Barnabas Ingya came close to joining Moroka Swallows, but a deal collapsed despite impressing on trial.

"You know these clubs will always tell you that 'wait we will tell you, we will unveil', you see," a source said.

"Everyone here only knows him as Chi, no details of who he is, but yes they are having a look at him. He is a striker, he's been here for a week. It's still early days but you know these teams are afraid to reveal trialists because they might steal him. So you must keep your stuff under wraps until you have secured everything you know. He was referred by someone here."

A second source confirmed a player called Chi is training with Abafana Bes'thende.

"Yes, there's a guy here. I don't know if he is here on trial or what but his name is Chi. He is a Nigerian but played in Mozambique. On Wednesday he scored in one of the club's friendlies."

Arrows coach Clinton Larsen couldn't be reached for comment.
