Deontay Wilder has claimed he could not sign the fight contract to face Anthony Joshua because it did not include a date or venue.
The WBC champion also revealed he took issue with the rematch clause in the contract, which would only apply if Wilder won.
A unification showdown between three-belt world champion Joshua and Wilder has been put on hold after the Brit was ordered to fight Alexander Povetkin by the WBA.
Wilder has reacted furiously to the latest developments and accusations from the Joshua camp that claim the American never had any intention of signing the contract.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn believes Wilder was bluffing through-out talks, but the heavyweight champion has dismissed those allegations.
‘It was simple. The two things were simple. How can you send a contract to anybody when you don’t have no date on there?’ Wilder said on ‘The Boxing Voice’ podcast.
Wilder said: "I knew I smelt p***y but damn @anthonyfjoshua I didn’t know the odor was that strong you coward ass b***h. Had the world waiting for 3 months playing games just for this moment. You’re not a true champion you’re just a weak minded coward that’s holding hard metal. #Facts”
He added:
“Nor do you have a venue up in there. He’s sending the contract saying ‘Just sign it’. And then another thing that was up in there was talking about if I beat Joshua he gets a rematch, but if he beats me then it’s up to him to decide if there was a rematch.
‘'Nah, it’s either going to [both of us having rematch clauses] or none at all. There is going to a rematch or no rematch at all. It’s crazy.
‘'How you going to send a contract like that? It was simple things that they could not answer. It ain’t that they couldn’t, it’s that they wouldn’t.
“They didn’t want to because they don’t want this fight. Povetkin already said it, the deal was already done. That’s why they’ve been stalling and stalling trying to come up with narratives that try to take the heat off them.
“If you’re going to be a fool, be a fool for yourself, not for anyone else.”
A frustrated and disappointed Wilder also said the original £38million offer he made to Joshua to come to America is now off the table.
“If anything he’s messed up his own legacy,” Wilder continued.
“I’m relieved this situation is over and done, for three months they’ve been putting us on.”
He added: “Eddie can stick his flat fee up his ass.” (Metro UK)
