Steven Gerrard is among a list of candidates being considered to become the new Rangers boss, according to reports.
The former Liverpool and England skipper, currently in charge of the Reds’ Under-18 squad, is now the bookmakers’ favourite to land the post.
The Light Blues’ former academy coach Graeme Murty was handed the reins after former manager Pedro Caixinha was axed back in October.
But his stint is almost certain to end this summer after a large section of the Gers faithful turned against him in the wake of an abject display against bitter rivals Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-finals earlier this month.
Rangers chairman Dave King was spotted at Anfield for Tuesday night’s Champions League showdown between Liverpool and Roma and it has now been reported that 37-year-old Gerrard is in the running to take over at the Glasgow giants having been added to a shortlist drawn up by Ibrox chiefs. (RTE)
