Wenger set for PSG and Monaco talks

By Daily Sports on April 22, 2018

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to return to France at the end of this season.

The Sun says the departing Arsenal manager, 68, is likely to open talks with Paris Saint-Germain and former club Monaco.

His close relationship with PSG’s Qatari owners could see him land a role as director of football.

The Mirror says Wenger will be offered the chance to become president of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 giants want the Frenchman to run the club with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, who is set to replace manager Unai Emery, concentrating solely on first-team affairs.

Wenger has had a hand in every aspect of Arsenal’s football business during his 22 years at the club.

And PSG want to tap into his extensive knowledge of the game and its politics, as well as his unrivalled contacts book.

The Frenchman announced on Friday that he would leave Arsenal at the end of the season, a year before his contract expires.

Unai Emery is out of contract at the end of the season and is unlikely to be handed a new deal by the Ligue 1 champions after failing to conquer Europe.

Wenger was Monaco boss between 1987 and 1994 before moving to Japan with Nagoya Grampus Eight and eventually Arsenal.

He has been heavily linked with the PSG job in recent years. (Tribal Football)
