Man City plot £75m Isco move, Barcelona track Diop and Kehrer

By Daily Sports on March 30, 2018

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and here are updates on all the latest rumours.

Man City eye £75m Isco move

Real Madrid star Isco is unhappy at the Bernabeu and could spark a frantic battle between Premier League rivals to sign the Spaniard this summer, with Man City leading the race for the £75 million-rated star.

The Mirror claim Pep Guardiola is keen to work with the player and the Blues might finally land the 25-year-old five years after losing out to Los Blancos when he left Malaga for £23m. Meanwhile, The Sun claim Tottenham and Chelsea are ready to compete for his signature, as well, with Zinedine Zidane unable to offer him a regular starting role.

“At Madrid, I don’t have the consistent playing time that a player needs,” Isco said after hitting a hat trick in Spain’s 6-1 destruction of Argentina on Tuesday. “But I know the problem is mine, that I haven’t been able to earn it. I continue to work so I can show my coach he can count on me.”

Inter identify wide targets

Inter Milan will move for Marlos Romero Bonfim and Marcel Sabitzer to add quality out wide this summer.

The Nerazzurri have identified their wings as an area to upgrade, with the Shakhtar Donetsk and RB Leipzig stars seen as their first choices, according to Tuttosport.

The 29-year-old Brazilian, better known as Marlos, has one year left on his contract and has put up incredible numbers this term, scoring 17 goals and assisting 11 more.

Austria international Sabitzer has four goals and nine assists so far, though the San Siro side’s chances of landing both targets could depend on Luciano Spalletti securing a Champions League spot for next season.

Barcelona tracking Diop and Kehrer

Barcelona are monitoring Toulouse sensation Issa Diop and Schalke youngster Thilo Kehrer in a bid to upgrade their defence with growing concern.

Samuel Umtiti could leave.

The Blaugrana have made contact with the France Under-21 international to understand his intentions for his future, with a €25m price tag mentioned.

However, Barca reportedly have more interest in Kehrer, who is also 21 years old, as the German is seen as both a superb talent and an excellent opportunity in the market as his contract expires in 2019.

The La Liga leaders are assessing their options, with Umtiti yet to commit his future and sign an extension at the Nou Camp and Thomas Vermaelen likely to seek a move to obtain first-team football.

Real rejected Coutinho swap deal for Bale.

Liverpool made a sensational offer of €70m and Philippe Coutinho in a bid to tempt Real Madrid to sell Gareth Bale last summer.

That claim comes from Mundo Deportivo, who quote the book “PSG: Revelations of a Revolution” and suggest Jurgen Klopp was eager to add the Wales international.

Los Blancos might now regret not accepting that offer with the Brazilian now a Barcelona player following his £142m move in January. (ESPN)
