Home based Super Eagles captain and first –choice goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has assured the team won’t disappoint in today’s CHAN 2018 quarter final showdown against Angola.
Ezenwa who spoke yesterday ahead of the tie said the team is determined to do Nigeria proud. Hear him: “It is a privilege to be here to represent Nigeria. From our first day in camp we spoke to ourselves and decided on the slogan, ‘Operation Do Nigeria Proud.’ We are very focused and determined and our approach is to take it one at a time.”
Ezenwa stressed that the team’s morale has been boosted by the support it is getting from the NFF.
It would be noted that NFF president, Pinnick Amaju, sports minister, Solomon Dalung and members of the National Assembly visited the players in camp yesterday charging them to go all out against Angola.
Dalung had during the visit assured the players that government has released funds for their winning bonuses and other allowances declaring that the ball is now in the court of the players to deliver.
The Nigeria, Angola clash kicks off 5:30 pm Nigerian time.
Host Morocco last night qaulified for the semi final after beating Namibia 2-0. (The SUN)
