2026 WCQ: Super Eagles Welcome Tella, Obasogie

Nathan Tella and Amas Obasogie were welcome to the Super Eagles fold on Monday, reports Completesports.com.

The duo are in the Super Eagles for the first time after they were handed invitation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho Zimbabwe.

The two players were celebrated before the team’s first training session ahead of the qualifiers on Tuesday night.

Their colleagues formed two lines and they both pass in between receiving pats on the back as they walk through.

Tella was born in the United Kingdom to Nigerian parents and has opted to represent the West Africans.

The 24-year-old joined Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The versatile winger scored his maiden goal for Die Werkself in the 4-0 win against Union Berlin last weekend.

Obasogie was a late replacement for Maduka Okoye.

The Bendel Insurance star is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Nigeria Premier Football League
