Mason Greenwood's problems continue: Southgate closes England door

By Prosper E. on February 3, 2022

Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after spending three days in custody, and now Gareth Southgate has closed the door on any England involvement.

The Manchester United forward, who faces charges of charges of assault, rape, sexual assault and death threats, has already been told he is not in Southgate's plans in the near future.

The Sun has reported that the England manager has banned Greenwood from playing for the Three Lions until his legal issues are resolved.

This is not the first time that Greenwood has had problems in the English national team.

Just a few hours after making his debut for England in September 2020, the Bradford-born player and Manchester City's Phil Foden were sent home from Iceland after ignoring the COVID protocols.

The duo were seen with women in and around the hotel where England were based at the time in Iceland.

The footballer, who has already received threats, wants to avoid further problems and has hired two new security guards to monitor the perimeter of his house 24 hours a day.

Greenwood has also installed new video surveillance equipment in the home to prevent the entry of people from outside his inner circle.
