11 Eagles’ stars hit camp for Poland clash

Nigeria national team camp is beginning to bubble ahead of the international friendly against Poland on March 23.

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr is elated with the arrival of 11 Super Eagles stars in Warsaw, Poland, for the pre-World Cup grade A friendly match between the Eagles and host Poland slated for Friday.

The coach would have preferred all the players arrived yesterday as earlier scheduled but he disclosed that injury and visa problems have forced some of them to arrive in Warsaw today.

The Eagles camp had swelled to 11 players as at Monday evening.

Some of the players in camp are Vice Captain Onazi Ogenyi, Leon Balogun, Troost Ekong, Brian Idowu, Ola Aina, John Ogu, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi.

More players are expected before lunch time on Tuesday.

Gernot Rohr’s men will be lodged at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Wroclaw before taking on Adam Nawałka’s side at the Municipal Stadium Wroclaw.

The game is one of the three-time African champions’ build-up matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. They have been zoned alongside Argentina, Croatia and debutants Iceland in Group D.

Four days later, Nigeria will take on another World Cup bound team, Serbia at the Hive in London.
