Madu apologises to Heartland players for accusing them of sabotage

By Daily Sports on March 16, 2018

Heartland manager, Ramson Madu, has come out straight to apologise to his wards for his unguided outburst after the top-flight massive loss to Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC.

The Naze Millionaires were beaten thoroughly 0-3 by the Olukoya Boys in NPFL matchday 12 clash on Sunday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

Worried by the spate of losses and poor performances of his wards the gaffer pointedly accused his players of sabotage aimed at getting rid of him from the plum job.

“My players maybe do not want to play for me or the club.

“Some people are penetrating into my team to destroy me, my enemies are penetrating through my players to destroy me,” said Madu in a fit of anger.

Madu has now recanted the outburst saying that he actually spoke out of anger and frustration losing two straight matches to Lobi Stars and MFM FC.

“I have reached out to the players to apologise for a wrongful accusation of sabotage after the shocking 0 – 3 loss to MFM FC in Lagos on Sunday.

“I did not really mean my outburst to be understood exactly as the words filtered out of my mouth.

“I wanted the harsh words to be a rude challenge or wakeup call on the players perhaps I used the wrong language and platform, too to pass the subtle message.

“I was really disappointed and let down by their poor performance especially coming at the heels of another poor showing that saw us lose 0-1 to Lobi Stars at home in Nnewi.

“The manner with which the players collapsed, lost steam and strength in the second half of the clash against MFM FM leading to two cheap goals was quite worrisome.

“As human I was thoroughly overwhelmed by the heat of the moment leading to the several burst of emotions.

“The players, too are sober and apologetic over the incidents having understood exactly where I’m coming from.

“The players’ attitude to training of late is quite reassuring that we will get it right from now onward in the top-flight campaign.

“The back to back defeats to Lobi Stars and MFM FC are bitter bills to swallow as the losses have once again left us a struggling side.

“Well, those bad feelings are history right now as we have resolved to do the needful and up our games in subsequent matches starting with the Sunday’s matchday 13 clash at newcomers, Katsina United in Katsina.

“We need good result at Katsina United to regain our confidence to climb back to our rightful position on the league log.

“Even the players have realised the danger we are faced at the moment and have vowed never again would the side go down on relegation,” said Madu to supersport.com.
