Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan hit man, Sunday Faleye has set his eyes on winning the CHAN 2018 golden boot as the tourney kicks off in Morocco.
The 20-year old young said in an interview that after making the CHAN list to this year’s competition, nothing other than the golden boot and the trophy gets his attention.
“As a striker, I have no other business on the field of play than to score goals. Every attacker wants to be on the score sheet or win the golden boot, including me. But as for me, the golden boot is not my first ambition. My dream is to wear the CHAN 2018 gold medal. I want this set of CHAN team to become a pace setter by winning the tournament. It’s sad that Nigeria has never won the tournament which I think is a bad one for our football. However, let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope everything work out well in our favour.”
Faleye stated he fears no foe as he believes the Super Eagles is well prepared and all players have equal chances to make the starting line-up.
“God has a plan for every one’s life. I never believed I will get to this stage at my very tender age. All I need do is to keep working hard. I have strong rivals who know much about football. As my coach would always say, everyone has an equal chance and I am sure am not a push over. Having made the final 23-man squad I also see myself as a key player in the squad.
“It’s sad most of us have not played a competitively for a while before this tournament because the league which should have shaped us ahead of the competition is yet to kickoff before the commencement of CHAN. We got no choice than to take the game one after the other. Other teams whose leagues (The Sun)
