Lagos SWAN EXCO visits Sport Ministry Liaison Officer

Members of the newly-inaugurated executive committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Director of Sports, Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, Lagos Office, Dr. Segun Akinlotan, as part of the familiarisation tour of the new board.

Lagos SWAN chairman, Debo Oshundun, who led delegation to the Liaison Office at the National Stadium, Surulere, commended the Sports Ministry for creating a great working relationship with the association.

“We are pleased to formally visit you as our host and landlord at the National Stadium to sustain and consolidate the cordial relationship between Lagos SWAN and the Ministry of Sports,” said Oshundun, who is of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Akinlotan, while promising to give Lagos SWAN the necessary support to excel, tasked the new executive committee to surpass the successes of the immediate past administration.

“I congratulate you all and the composition of the new executive board shows men and women who have paid their dues in the profession but you must make sure you surpass the achievement of the last administration.

“We welcome great suggestions from Lagos SWAN as one of our greatest partners. Our doors are open for consultations anytime you need us,” he added.

The delegation included Adeola Omo-Kivie of the Nigerian Television Authority (Vice-Chairman), New Telegraph’s Emmanuel Tobi (Secretary), Monica Iheakam of the Sun Newspapers (Treasurer) and Ganiu Yusuff of Complete Sports (Financial Secretary).
