The Confederation of African Football has moved the two qualification rounds of the 2018 African Women's Cup of Nations forward.
The first qualifying round ties of the Women’s Afcon 2018 were earlier fixed between February 24-26, 2018 and second leg billed for a week later.
While, the second qualification round was initially scheduled between March 31-April 2, 2018, with the second legs happening a week later as well.
In a letter, Caf's secretary general, Anthony Baffoe, announced the new adjustments, citing the Caf women's symposium billed for March 1-3 next year as the main reason.
"We regret to inform you that due to the clash of dates of the first round of the women's Afcon Ghana 2018 with Caf women's symposium scheduled to be held in Marrakesh during the first week of March 2-18," Baffoe wrote the African football associations.
"It was decided to modify the dates of the qualifications rounds to be as follows: first round will be played April 2 to 10, 2018, while the second round will hold June 4-12, 2018. You are kindly requested to take the necessary measures in this respect," it concluded.
Seven out of the 24 participating teams are expected to join hosts Ghana for the 13th edition of the continental showpiece scheduled for November 17 to December 1, 2018.
The women's football event will produce the African representatives for the Fifa Women's World Cup with top three teams qualifying for France 2019.
