Disgruntled FC Ifeanyiubah striker Godwin Obaje has reportedly returned to the club after a botched transfer following the club’s hefty transfer fee tag, according to SCORENigeria.
Obaje featured for Federation Cup holders Akwa United in the Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament in Kano recently.
But ‘The Anambra Warriors’ were furious not just because of the player’s desire to move, but by the manner a fellow NPFL club “poached” their contracted player without recourse to the existing transfer rules and regulations.
Consequently, they slapped a ‘non-negotiable’ fee of N30m on him.
But Scorenigeria.com.ng checks revealed Obaje has now agreed to return to FC Ifeanyiubah.
This was corroborated by an official of FC Ifeanyiubah who further hinted the sleeky forward has indeed apologised and is expected to rejoin the squad between Wednesday and Thursday.
“Obaje appears to have harkened to the voice of reason,” he said.
“He has apologised and assured us he will rejoin his teammates either Wednesday or Thursday, December 14.
