Still on the Nigerian Awards for Sporting Excellence 2017

By Daily Sports on December 11, 2017

The recently concluded Nigerian Awards for Sporting Excellence (NASE) held at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja has continued to generate commendations. Indeed, sweet memories are forever!

As I did say last week, it was an award that came at the nick of time and we got it right in its very first edition. As it was rightly tagged Nigeria’s Biggest Sports Awards, it lived up to its billing. Many have continued to thumb up the exercise as not only being credible but also for the assemblage of reputable committee members to spot out the deserving administrators and athletes that were bestowed with the awards. It has further been adjudged one event that would be expected annually.

I must say that such expectations by stakeholders have been simply encouraging and have in short, put us on our toes to ensure that the already set high standard is maintained and even improved upon as years role by. We remain highly indebted to all but above all, to those that made it become a reference point and a spectacle.  It would remain undeniably a showpiece and mother of all sports awards in the country. We can only say thank you all for being there.

Our assurance: We are not beating out chests yet but our heads are high because you endorsed it. As positive reactions continue to pour in from across the country on the job well done, it would not enter our head, rather it would make us stronger and well prepared for the enormous task ahead. We cannot come below what we have already posted. Therefore it is incumbent on us to get down and continue to  set the pace in the way and manner we present news in Daily Sports which is the platform with which the talk of the town Nigerian Awards for Sporting Excellence came into being.  Our readers across all age brackets have embraced us as the choice all-sports website to trust. The traffic hits are great testimonies and has also served as our source of inspiration.

Daily Sports, being Nigeria’s Best Sports Daily has set sports journalism standards as not only a way of life but an authoritative voice. We have also discovered that there is no second or minute that readers don’t visit our website on  www.dailysportsng.com   which has given us an edge over our competitors. It is a big burden we are diligently carrying. And capping it with the successful introduction of NASE as a yearly event is no doubt an intelligent way of smoothing the balm, calling out our dear readers, advertisers and industry stakeholders to come along with us to celebrate excellence in sports and later unwind with us, a way to say thanks to all.

I will anchor on this sound and promising note but would promise you that this page would not fail to give you updates on the NASE event performance as it rolls in.

Keep reading Daily Sports and by extension, this column,  Sports Pulse .

And now this, as the world Cup draws have come and gone, the analysis of the groups and teams that make up the different groups have continued to dominate the media - traditional, electronic and online.

It has not only been a beautiful discourse but also one that  has generated intelligent discussion among fans and non-fans alike. It is an exercise that is in my candid opinion, great as it has brought to the fore, a one stop debate that signifies that  the fans are armed fully and follow closely the most beautiful  and largest single sport crowd puller in the globe.

It is a most welcome development for us. And we believe that this set of Super Eagles have the ability to go far in the Russia World Cup tournament.

I must say that group D is a very delicate one where only the fittest would survive. One is glad that both the technical hand, Gernot Rohr and the players are aware of that home and bitter truth while all eyes would not be on only Argentina but also on others in the same group so as to avoid possible up set.

However, methinks that as we count down, all hands would be practically on deck to make spectacular results out of next year’s football gathering in Russia. I will crave that we shift our discussion to Twitter, WhatsAPP, Facebook and Linkedin as usual. Keep shooting hard, till next week!
