Sylvester Igboun produced a five-star performance as Ufa defeated Amkar Perm 3-0 in Sunday’s Russian Premier League encounter.
The forward had an impressive second half as he weighed in with two goals and an assist to wrap up the victory for Sergei Semak’s side over the Red and Blacks who had fellow Nigeria internationals Brian Idowu and Fegor Ogude on parade.
With no goals in the first half, the game had to wait till the 53rd minute to witness one. The hosts went ahead courtesy Igboun.
In the 69th minute, the former Midtjylland attacker added a second and with ten minutes left in the tie, he turned provider as Ivan Oblyakov drilled the final nail into their visitors’ coffin.
The goals were the 27-year-old’s sixth in 18 Russian top-flight encounter for the Neftyanik Stadium outfit, now sixth in the log.
Idowu and Ogude were part of Amkar’s five-man defence torn apart by the bulky striker and the Super Eagles’ duo played for the entire duration of the encounter while Ufa’s Kehinde Fatai was not afforded the chance of opening his goal account for the season as he watched from the bench.
Igboun will hope to continue in the same vein when they visit Rostov at the Olimp-2 for their next league encounter on December 10. (GOAL)
