Leon Balogun returns from injury

By Daily Sports on November 29, 2017

Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun has resumed first team training after returning from injury.

The Nigeria international suffered a fracture to his left hand in the O-Fives’ training on October 17 thus, missing their 1-0 victory over Cologne the following day.

The 29-year-old also sat out their loss to Freiburg over the weekend as he recovered from the wound.

Confirming his return to action, the former Werder Bremen man - still sporting a face mask - took to the social media to share a clip of himself training with his team.

“Fall down seven times, stand up eight. Great feeling to be back in training,” Balogun wrote on Twitter.

Balogun has made only four appearances for Mainz in the German Bundesliga so far this season.

And the 29-year-old will be looking to help Sandro Schwarz’s side pick their fifth league win of the season when they welcome Augsburg to the Opel Arena on Saturday.

Mainz 05 are placed 13th in the log after gathering 15 points from 13 games. (GOAL)
