Kalusha Bwalya believes the current generation of the Zambian national team is in fine form and is capable of beating Nigeria in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
The former Football Association of Zambia president said the current squad has players who are able to score at any given opportunity.
He believes coach Wedson Nyirenda's men are in good form coming into this match as the two nations are set to meet in Uyo.
The Chipolopolo legend says he respects the West Africans, but the 2012 African champions can get a win on Saturday.
“A team needs to score a goal in any game and this team has potential goal scorers. The young guns have brought a new dimension to the team,” Bwalya said to Lusaka Times.
“I have always had great respect for the Super Eagles and it’s array of world class players but, if there is a team that can beat Nigeria in Nigeria it’s Chipolopolo.
“Never has the experience of goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Stoppila Sunzu’s marshaling of the defensive line, Enock Mwepu emergence as a midfield brain with the finishing of Patson Daka upfront be required than in this crucial match.
“I expect a solid entertaining match with end to end action,” he said.
